For the third time this year, floodwaters have submerged hundreds of villages in Baliapal, Bhogarai, and Jaleswar blocks. Thousands of hectares of paddy and vegetable crops have been completely destroyed, breaking the economic backbone of local farmers. Even though water has receded from houses, village roads remain submerged for over a month due to poor drainage.
